I received my Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology from Northern Illinois University. I spent two years as a Hematologist at Loyola Medical Center and finally realized that working every other weekend and holiday was not the ideal way to make brownie points with my family. Since I loved the medical field, I decided to return to school and earned my Masters Degree in Microbiology. I taught at NIU as a teaching assistant and I also taught various biology courses at the local community college. I then focused on the research side of Clinical Microbiology and realized that while research was quite interesting, it was not my calling in life. Next I accepted a position at Saint Bernard Hospital in Chicago where I was the Clinical Laboratory Director. A very challenging and rewarding position, but my heart still missed academia.

At present, I am a Program Director at the Naperville Campus for Robert Morris College for the Computer Specialist and Computer Programming programs and I also teach the Biology courses. I am in the process of designing a brand new microbiology class as part of the general education curriculum. I am also one of nine members appointed to the steering committee for the accreditation process RMC is currently involved in. Before coming to the Naperville Campus, I was a full-time faculty member for the Medical Assistant Program at the Orland Park Campus.

My two true loves are academia and clinical microbiology. I am fortunate enough to be involved with both. As our population ages, more and more educated health care professionals are needed. It is both an honor and a privilege to be in a position that can benefit mankind's future needs. I am looking forward to and excited about being a part of this program as adult education enters the new millennium.
