KEVIN OLSON has been on the faculty at Elmhurst College for nearly three years. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses in music theory, music history, electronic music, conducting, and classical and jazz piano, Kevin is the Director of Music Admission, which involves the recruitment of prospective music students to the College. Kevin also serves as a Freshman Adviser, helping first-year students register for classes and adjust to college life.
Before teaching at Elmhurst, Kevin held a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Music Department at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Composition and Theory from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Kevin is an active pianist, clinician, and composer in the Chicago area, and has more than 20 pedagogical piano books published by FJH Music in Miami, Florida. He maintains a large piano studio in Elmhurst for students of all ages and abilities.
